Arizona’s TASC’s Chief Operating Officer meets with NASADAD and SAMHSA.


During the National TASC Executive Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC, Marrya Briggs (Chief Operating officer for Arizona TASC and President of National TASC since 5/15) had the honor of meeting with the NASADAD Executive Director Rob Morrison and his Public Policy Associate Shalini Wickramatilake-Templeman. Rob Morrison spoke at length about the Murphy Bill “Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act of 2015 [H.R. 2646]. Also discussed was the Heroin Epidemic across the country and the need for more voices to promote abstinence and curbing recidivism.

Marrya, along with the National TASC Board of Directors, also had the honor of meeting with SAMHSA/CSAT Team Leader, Criminal Justice Grants (Targeted Populations Branch Division of Systems Improvement/CSAT) Kenneth Robertson and SAMHSA/CSAT Public Health Advisor Jon Berg. Discussion began around leadership changes at SAMHSA and the new interim Executive Director and a renewed focus on AOD and Criminal Justice. They spoke of currently overseeing 140 grants.

Marrya looks forward to continuing the close working relationship National TASC has with the NASADAD and SAMHSA Federal Agencies.
